      So currently wind turbines are a great way of generating energy without the need for burning fossil fuels. However fossil fuels are still being used as they are generally cheaper.

      The coatings I am working on improving aim to make offshore (out at sea) wind turbines last longer before needing repair.This is really expensive as people have to go out to sea in boat and take down these massive blades which is not only expensive but dangerous.

      Hopefully by improving these coatings I can help lower the cost of wind energy and make its the energy of choice in the future.
