I work 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week. Nearly all of my work is scientific, but much of that time is spent at a computer where I design and write up scientific experiments. I much prefer working in the lab to sitting at a computer, but that is not always possible.

I work Monday to Friday 9-5. All my work is computer based, I don’t spend any time in the lab. I go to meetings and seminars as well so I’m not looking at a screen quite for the whole day.

more and more we produce big sets of numbers and spend a lot of time on the computer using analysis software.
I love being in the lab, hands-on as that’s much more fun.
Helping others with their work is part of my job and that’s interesting too.
I only work part-time and it’s difficult fitting everything that I’d like to do into the hours that I’m paid to work – often you get carried away and don’t realise the time!
