Question: Have you ever thought about how giving the rats that medicine might harm them?

Hi Jana. Yes, I always think of this before I perform any experiment and it is a very important part of designing a study. In my taste tests, the maximum amount of medicine a rat could drink is very small (because they only have a very short time to drink) and none of my rats has ever become ill. In other experiments, the animals are watched very closely to make sure if they do start to look ill, a vet can be called straight away to try and help them.
