Good question Molly. Most medicine do not work the same in all animals or even in different humans. This is because our bodies are biologically different and response to medicine can vary. To improve our chances of a medicine working in humans, it will be tested in at least two other animal species. This isn’t perfect but at the moment it is the most effective way of testing medicines.
